Amelia Lewis National Championship Hurricane Junior Tour

The Amelia Lewis Girls National Championship

The 2016 inaugural Amelia Lewis Girl’s National Championship (#ALewisHJGT) is one of largest junior golf events in the United States in both the size of field and scope for girl golfers under the age of 18. Hosted by professional golfer Amelia Lewis and the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour, the event was contested December 2016, at Champions Gate outside Orlando, Fla. The field consists of 99 participants who have either won a HJGT event or received a special invitation to compete in two different divisions, Girls 13U and Girls 14-18.

As important as the competition, the Amelia Lewis Girl’s National Championship will provide each contestant the look, feel and simulation of playing in a professional event. With the mission to create a professional tournament atmosphere, some of golf’s greatest vendors have shown their philanthropic spirit by donating over 800 products benefiting everyone participating in this event. The two-day tournament will consist of player dining, player gifts and roped off areas for spectators and college coaches. Each division winner will have the opportunity to caddie for Lewis on a practice round day at an event in 2017.

‘It’s exciting to host such an impressive collection of girl junior players,’ said Lewis, who has played on both the LPGA and Ladies European Tour since 2011. ‘But more importantly, it is significant for them to experience what it is like to be on Tour while at the junior level. It’s not about winning at this age, it’s about experiences and having fun.’
